Licensing

Triage checks its license on your own machine, with no network. Activation happens once, in your browser.

1

Run triage activate

It prints a device fingerprint and waits. Nothing leaves the machine.

2

Enter it with your purchase key

You get back a license signed for that one device.

3

Paste it back

Verified locally from then on, forever, offline.

Activate a device

Triage never contacts a license server. The binary has no HTTP client compiled into it, so a machine with no network is still fully licensed. That matters, because a computer that has just crashed is often offline.

Your fingerprint is not an identity. It is a one-way hash of an identifier your OS already assigns. It cannot be reversed, and it is only ever sent when you deliberately activate.

If our server is down, nothing breaks. You could not activate a new device until it is back, but every activated machine keeps working.
